Aimee Mann for CASA Aimee Mann performed at the Carnegie Music Hall Friday night for the annual WYEP Holiday Concert to raise funds for Family Resources and CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates). Onstage, Mann asked if fans coming to the postshow reception truly believed it was worth paying extra for a "hearty handshake" from her. "I'm extremely unpleasant offstage," she dead-panned. Of course, Mann was upbeat and engaging at the reception attended by WYEP's Rosemary Welsch, Chris Griffin and Kat Lally, as well as the station's board of directors and hundreds of volunteers. WYEP GM Lee Ferraro noted that the holiday shows have now raised more than $75,000, a figure appreciated by CASA executive director Mary Jo Meenen and Family Resources' Andi Fischoff. ![]() |
