Fifteen years ago Roy Hollingshead (Vocals & Harmonica), Michael Palo(Bass), Glenn Schulman (Guitar) and JuddDavies (Drums) formed the blues band The Nitecrawlers. After six years the band called it quits only to reform in four years later. They added bass player Bill "Sugar Bear" Biedebach and drummer Dennis Cushing. During the summer of "99" they added drummer Jim Devanney and keyboard player Cobo. The band has become one of New Jersey's premiere blues bands. They play a mix of original material and classic blues numbers by artists like Ronnie Earl and John Lee Hooker. The band has also warmed up for acts like the J. Geils, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Johnny Copeland. In the early 90s the band opened the show, and then backed blues legend Tabby Thomas, for two memorable sets at the "LBI Blues Festival". In 1998 they headlined the first "Wet & Wild Watersports Festival" which featured four other bands including No Discipline. Both festivals have since been discontinued but the great performances helped establish the Nite Crawlers as the areas premiere blues act. |
